Prospective MembersJoin a group of hundreds of doctors who share your goals and passions of raising the standards of care for patients with diseases affecting the liver pancreas and biliary system. The AHPBA is an organization where you can exchange your ideas, concerns and enthusiasm with other doctors who have your interests in common. The AHPBA has annual meetings, educational sessions and courses to increase your awareness of what is happening in our field of surgery. Patient care changes everyday and the AHPBA helps you and other surgeons like you keep up with the fast paced changes. Some benefits of membership are intangible, like the friendships that you will gain. The AHPBA was inaugurated on November 12, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois. It has grown from a handful of surgeons interested in HPB surgery to a membership of over 830 today. Benefits of Membership

Active Member: You should apply as an AHPBA Active Member if you are: A qualified medical practitioner or scientist actively involved in any of the hepatic, pancreatic or biliary fields. The requirements for Active Membership shall be:
Candidate Membership shall be available to any resident or fellow enrolled in a program of medical education or research. Candidate members must convert to active members at the conclusion of the training. The requirements for Candidate Membership shall be: NOTE: The online application form will require an upload of a letter from your Program Director confirming participation in a training program, stating expected date of conclusion of such training and supporting membership OR a letter from a current member of the AHPBA. Annual dues for Candidate Membership are $50. Dues will be required at time of online application.
Allied Health Membership shall be offered to any health care provider who is not a physician or scientist. This includes, but is not limited to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical nurse practitioners, clinical trial managers, physician assistants, and technologists. Allied Health members do not have voting privileges and are excluded from holding office, but will receive journals and other benefits of membership once annual dues have been paid.
AHPBA offers a discount for combined dues rates with IHPBA. o Combined Active AHPBA/IHPBA Dues $350.00 Combined members enjoy full membership status in both the AHPBA and IHPBA, which spans both North and South America (Savings of $65.00) o Combined Candidate AHPBA/IHPBA Dues $90.00 Combined members enjoy full membership status in both the AHPBA and IHPBA, which spans both North and South America (Savings of $35.00) Please Note: If you are interested in the Combined Rates with IHPBA and have paid your IHPBA or AHPBA dues already, please contact our office for further assistance. |
