Dr. Sharon Weber completed general surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin, and then went on to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she completed fellowships in Surgical Oncology and Hepatobiliary. She specializes in benign and malignant disorders of the liver, pancreas, and bile duct. Her research interests include mixed methods evaluation of risk factors for readmission using a systems engineering approach, and assessment of outcomes after cancer surgery. She is an advocate for minimally invasive approaches to cancer treatment, and performs both laparoscopic pancreas and liver surgery. She has been invited as a speaker/moderator at many national meetings including the American College of Surgeons, the American Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She is the President-elect for the Society of University Surgeons.
